About us

Orange Coast Lariats

Friendship in motion since 1957. We enjoy, promote and preserve the uniquely American art of Modern Western Square Dancing — for the friendship, the challenge, the exercise and, most of all, the fun.

Learning Together

Our Thursday lessons introduce beginners to our favorite dance form, one call at a time, with Mel Branham calling and Line Dancing between the square dancing tips.

From September through May, the beginner lesson runs from 7:00–9:00 pm. The advanced lesson is from 6:45–7:00 pm, just before beginners take the floor.

Friends Beyond the Floor

Some friends have been dancing together for years. Others are new friends we have yet to meet. The friendship doesn’t end when the music stops: we enjoy parties, dining, concerts and plays, camping and travel. The original club story even mentions a little quilting group within the club.
