Social & Travel

Social & Travel

The friendship doesn't end when the music stops. From local outings and club parties to festivals, campouts and adventures, we enjoy our time together.

Plays & Concerts

Pacific Symphony at Chapman University, the U.S. Air Force Band in Santa Ana, tribute bands at the Orange Hart Park Bandshell, and plays at local community and college theaters. There is so much talent in Orange County!

Cultural Outings

We've car-pooled to the Nethercutt Museum in Sylmar — an amazing collection of cars, mechanical musical instruments, furniture and fine arts … even a steam locomotive.

Thursday Brunch

What is more social than sharing a meal? We gather for a monthly Thursday morning brunch at the Waterfront Café in Garden Grove, joined by friends from other clubs and members who no longer dance.

Club Parties

Our annual al fresco dice game party ends the summer with a bang, and the President's annual Christmas party may feature holiday costumes, gift exchanges, or the excitement of Left Right Center — visit us and we'll teach you how to play.

The Annual Fish Fry

A favorite every year at La Purisima Church in Orange — rated one of the best in Orange County.

Dinner Before the Dance

We occasionally gather for dinner together before a dance — because an evening of friendship in motion is even better on a full stomach.

Travel & Camping

Square dance festivals, campouts and adventures — as a club we go to dance events and to camp and socialize.

Solvang Spring Fling

An annual square dance festival in charming Solvang Memorial Hall, featuring the one and only Buddy Weaver — always a sell-out. When we're not dancing, Solvang's shops and restaurants are just steps from the dance floor, and the Santa Ynez wine country is all around.

RIVCO Festival, Indio

The Riverside County Square and Round Dance Festival brings over a thousand dancers to the Riverside County fairground in Indio every November, with a half dozen of the country's best callers keeping us movin'. Downtown Palm Springs and Joshua Tree National Park are right around the corner.

Puddingstone Lake Campout

Our annual campout at the Puddingstone Lake campground in San Dimas — no dancing, but a heck of a lot of fun! It's a short drive from Orange County, so non-campers can easily join us during the day. Some stay a weekend, others a full week, and we all keep busy playing games and enjoying each other's company.

Further Afield

A bunch of us shared a new adventure traveling to Fun Valley in Colorado — an all-inclusive resort on the Rio Grande near South Fork, with cabins, RV hook-ups, a log dance hall and outdoor activities. We made friends with square dancers from Texas while dancing to callers Ken Bowers and Melton Luttrell.

Come for the fun. Stay for the friendships.
